Guys I'm TOTALLY on board with over filtration, I'm arguing that if I'm only going to have 2 canisters, I should get BIGGER canisters and skip the TINY eheim 2222 ;-)

If budget allows for it, then absolutely.

Unless the eheim 2222 is a killer deal? hmm, I'm actually rethinking it might be a good filter encase I ever have to set up a quarantine tank, I could just take off my main and hook it on to my 30 gal nano, fill with tank water and wouldn't have to cycle

Ok, so same question but now it's a should I add a used Fluval 404 to my 406/ac110 setup?
The guy wants $50 and it comes with extra new parts, impeller, impeller case, water basket, cover, clamps etc..

TBH I'd rather have 1-2 larger filters on a tank than a mish-mash of smaller items. I'd sell them all and pick up a used FX5 if you can find one.

that was my gut feeling as well, I have been out of the hobby for a while and didn't really think about the used fluval 406 before I bought it, as soon as I got it home and started looking at it I remembered not liking these smaller fluvals and dumping them in the past. So adding another one isn't probably smart, I should try to flip the one I already have.
