What is working for you? Let me know what filtration you’re using on a 220 Gallon fish tank!!!!

Currently have a 220 fish tank with Eshopps 300 WD SYSTEM. I KEEP MY TEMPERATURE AT 80 degrees and have an Ehiem conpact+ 5000 return pump.

WHATS KEEPING YOUR WATER CRYSTAL CLEAR?

hello; Pretty much any decent filter system can do the mechanical filtration. That said, to me, the best thing for clear water is the water change(WC).
The next best thing is to be careful about over feeding. I overfed for years back when I started. Most everyone does.
After these two the next is to stock a tank lightly. I get that the temptation is to squeeze as many fish into a tank as can be managed. I did it myself for a few decades. So much better the last few as I have gone to light stocking.

Okay, its been about a week the Red Oscar died from something after a few days which I felt bad about... I had a firemouth died on arrival and my gold sevrum died after a few days after shipment pleco died from ick even though i isolated him and treated it with high temps an salt and ick-x but, it passed im getting all of the fish that passed reshipped after the 14 day period.

Hello; Do you literally mean the water froze? I have had power outages in winter for several days with no loss of fish. The trick is to have a light stocking load so that the fish can survive without any power. I get this is not popular.

Hello; That was a big load of fish to put into a problem tank. You may have had a serious ammonia spike.

Hello; A trick in stocking is to get fish one or a few at a time. This allows the beneficial bacteria time to adjust to the ammonia load.
