Filtration on a 75 gallon

omg!!! y do you guys put so much darn filters on 1 tank! 1 ac110 would do the job quit nicley. or you can go with 2 submersible fluval 4's!
I would do 1 AC70 and a Eheim 2217 or 2028.

Dats and Birchirs are extremely sensitive to nitrates...
the canister will give you a huge advantage in battling nitrates.
I run a AC70 and Eheim 2217 (FYI $142@Petsmart and Forster&Smith with the CK code shipped in lower 48 with media)...
Just put the bio media in 2 separate media bags to make them easier to clean in tank water.. invest in a colander to wash the rings...
The AC70 will handle the mechanical part easily and you really don't want allot of flow with that stocking assuming you are going to add plants...
Just so you know they don't make AquaClears like they used to..
When the power goes out.. I need to jump start (spin the impeller) on 2 out of 5 Aquaclears i have running.....

It might work if all you want to do is look at a tank full of water with no fish in it. But other then that, just one wont do anything. Now 1 on each side is different
2 AC110 will do nicely

Low Budget - run sponge filters with air pumps.
Medium Budget - I would go with AC110s with the stock sponge(mechanical), filter floss(finer mechanical), and the stock bio-rings for BBs. I have AC110s and use type of filtration and keeps the tank sparkling, clear.
Unlimited Budget - wet/dry, 2 sponge filters, 2 AC110s, 2 FX5s....haha j/k
