I’ve been keeping Mbuna for the first time for the last couple months. I have 18 of them, with 3 small Synosontis Lucipinnis, in a 75 gallon. Filtration is an Aquaclear 110, which has been more than sufficient for any other setup I’ve had in the tank over the years. But now that I’m ‘overstocking’, I’m noticing faster algae growth on the rocks and glass, and crystal clear water clarity not being sustained as long between water changes. I’m thinking of going and buying a 2nd Aquaclear/Fluval 110 today, thinking that should be sufficient and make a big difference…curious of a thoughts on this. I want to avoid canister filters, having small curious kids running around.

That will work well with mbuna. I used same on mbuna set ups for many years.
