u shouldn't have washed your old filter media in water, just transfer them over to your eheim. Then if you wish to change media, just change abit at a time, lets say 20% a week? This is to allow BB to seed into the new media.

The box clearly says Eheim Classic 1500 XL, it is not the wrong name. I didn't wash the old media just the new media as I did not have enough to fill the canister with( It's a huge filter). Thanks Joe, better now than down the road when I had grown more attached.

ive heard eheim 2260 and 2262 lot. honestly this is first time ive ever heard of 1500 XL. guess learn somthing new everyday
