ok so the last thread was closed because people are angry.......
but i've decided against the undergravel filter and am looking at regular filters, should i go with the aquaclear 70-110 or should i go with the emperor 400. please give me your insight on them if you have any and keep it clean please. i'm trying to get as much knowledge as i can and bickering is helping no one, please and thank you.

also. when i purchase one of these filters it comes with all the stuff i'm going to need to get it up and running correct?

I know Aquaclear come with all the media you need, but I don't know about the Emporer. I'm guessing so. I haven't used Emporer, but I have several Aquaclears, and I really like them.

im not really a fan of marineland anymore. usually do to everything i buy from them breaking after a while. never had a emperor before tho.

alright would an ac70 be more than enough for filtration for a 55? its rated for 300gph, is 20 dollars cheaper than the 110 and is rated up to 70 gallons while a 110 is almost double the size of a 55.

300gph is weak. I have 1000GPH on my 55g, i have two aquaclear 110s.

I have a AC 110 on my 55. It's where I QT my minnows. I typically buy four dozen at a time, so that's a good deal of bioload in the tank, and I've never had a problem.

The "For now, at least" part is probably the reason you should go ahead and get the bigger filter, IMO.
