theres really isnt a best

but probably the most reliable PF would be an aquaclear 110

Delgado speaks the truth, aquaclear are pimpin filters, but not your only option. You could go with Whisper, Penguine, and Millenium. Just a few of them that are nice. I like the Rena Filstar XP series...they are quick and easy to setup and run nicely!!

I have a aquaclear 50 power filter in my 55 gallon that keeps my tank clear all the time. you don't have to buy replacable cartridges just clean the foam block every couple of weeks.
