Fin Rot

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had that problem once and could get rid of it. wc after wc and medication didn't help at all. so i did 100% water change. clean the tank and dried it for couple days. i'm not suggesting you copy me but that how i got rid of it for good.

Hey there.

What i did to save my fish

cero chlorine
salt
high water temp

and then full dose of tetracicline <--that's the life saver when the fish is too sick to wait for the salt and clean water to work, by looking at your fish pic maybe you dont need to use this. your water will get red dont panic ,water changes will make it go away

my fish got a bad case of fin rot and gill disease due to frecuent water changes with tap water and then using declorinator

Now i use chlorine filters and a put the water to rest for a couple of days on a diff container before adding it to the tank, and i always test the water for chlorine before using it

Chlorine = Fish killer

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. Thanks for posting carajito. Your Aro's comeback was the best I've seen. I actually have been taking pictures every day to see if the salt heat treatment was even slowing the rot and i wasn't. At the moment, I am using Melafix as well as Pimafix and the rotting has stopped. Just waiting for the regeneration to start. I'll update when she gets better. Thanks again all. Your advise is much appreciated.
