Final measurements as of recent

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Speaking of measurement Victor I finally got my four line to come out after throwing a fit that is a 6-inch pencil as you can see Round Up to 3 inches on each side makes 12 and then one inchfor longevity bonus since he is legal voting age and that's how I got my 13-inch four line

It's the norm for bonehead keepers like me with a thousand of fish. Just cumulative losses over the past 2-4 months. No need to invoke anything metaphysical whatsoever. Plain life.

On this Memorial Day, I salute all the fishes on this thread that served and give their life for this addiction.
Lowering my water level a 1/4 tank in honor.

Haha! Yea that's one huge and old blochii, my hat's off to you. The size is still a bit of a rough measure. Total length is measured to the base of a forked tail, not to the tip. Still, this is likely the biggest blochii I've seen with some size justification. Plus, when you take it out of the tank, it will measure bigger than it looks in the tank.

It doesn't belong here with all the fallen... It deserves its own thread if it still doesn't have one.

For MY addiction. This is funny and witty amusing :) I just hope all veterans have a good sense of humor.

I appreciate it, brother. The thought counts as support too :) I am more than sure you can apply your good will locally as well. There is never a shortage of need but always shortage of help. No advantage to stressing the missus beyond what's reasonable and feasible ;)

Thank you, all.

This thread is just a pinnacle, a depository of photos and the evidence of the final sizes.

All the deaths (and lives) have been traced, described, and the vast majority are explainable and have been explained in the corresponding threads in the corresponding sections.

I aim to maintain a single thread for each fish species that I keep, so my info is easy to find all in one place.

See above. It really varies - tank mate problems, disease, wrong med dosage, insufficient DO, wrong or unstable water parameters (pH, temp), and some indeed are unexplained. One constant is my perpetual stupidity and my being a fish hoarder, not fish keeper.

See above.

Yea, something's off with the latest batch of three I got from Rapps a year or so ago. I tentatively assume they might have all received exceedingly poor gene heritage. Got one still alive at about 6", not eating well, not growing, gills are slowly curling too. Kind of a neither alive nor dead state. But this discussion really would be misplaced here. It's all in my giant siamese carp thread.

More of the same. Particulars are in my corresponding threads in the corresponding forums. As expected, the last giant siamese carp hasn't made it.

Different brown bullhead, both killed by what might be columnnaris, judging by the swelling and other symptoms:
