Final Stock for 55

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hope it works for me. I really need a bigger tank but my money is funny right now. So I'll settle for my 55 now

If money is tight don't waste it on a fish you can't care for properly. You would have a syn in with tetras and corys that will likely become a snack only to have to get rid of it soon despite the fact it should never be housed in a 55g size tank. I would do some home work on the water parameters and needs of each species you like, test your own perameters and then build a stock list around what kind of water you can provide.

Keeping a species outside of it's basic needs is a bigger problem than if they get along or not. Example: Neolamprologus lelupi is an African Tanganican cichlid that needs a pH of 8-8.5 (hard alkaline water) and Microgeophagus ramirezi (rams) need pH around 5-6.5 (soft acidic water) and lots of heat 82+ degrees. The rams would die off in hard water so getting along is irrelevant. Do a little research and try to keep the basic species needs in mind first ;) Good luck.

wont work as others suggested corries tetras even the lelupies may become snack for the sync

I've already kept the basic species years ago. I was just asking and I had never looked at getting rams I just thought about it when I was typing because Rams and Rainbows have the same temperament.

and the Lemon cichlid can be kept in water with a ph of 7 and above
