I will be ordering the fish I am going to be getting for my 75 gallon in a few days (2-4) but haven't decided on a definite stocking yet. I have it down to three similar choices but want your guys opinions. All of the stockings will consist of 6 giant danios, 1 rainbow shark, 1 striped raphael catfish, 1 sailfin pleco (for a few years), and 1 four line pimelodus but the difference will be the cichlids that will go in it.
Options:

option 1:
1 firemouth
1 either convict or tbar cichlid
1 green severum
all the other fish listed in paragraph.

option 2:
1 firemouth
1 either convict or tbar cichlid
1 polleni cichlid (paratilapia polleni)
all the other fish listed in paragraph

option 3:
1 green severum
1 polleni cichlid
all other fish listed in paragraph

w/c schedule is once a week.
filter is fluval 406 canister.

which sound the best?

Any of those options with the pleco is overstocked IMO.

I'd do convict, firemouth, severum and the danios.
An how much of the water do you plan on changing?

I already have the pleco and raphael in my 30 tall. they are both 3 inches long and again the pleco will only be in the tank for a few years (2 probably). Water changes are weekly 30-40%.

I vote option 1 love FM and Severum and either con or t-bar would be good but I would go with t-bar.

Sounding like I will be going with 1 then (with a T-Bar). Now as far as bottom feeders it's: 1 rainbow shark, 1 striped Raphael catfish, 1 sailfin pleco (for 2 years), and now when it comes to bioload, is there much of a bioload difference between 1 four line pimelodus and 3 regular pictus. I know they are different in size with four lines getting about 12" and pictus rarely exceeding 4.5". So would it make much of a difference if I did 3 pictus instead of 1 four line? Not for sure but just want to know.

Option 1 sounds great with the sajica (tbar). I recently setup a very similar tank 75 w/ fluval 406... I would also recommend adding a hob to help with turn over. I just ordered one since the fluval seems a little inadequate at 393gph. Anyways as far as pictus vs the four line, I'd say 3 pictus are probably less of a bio load, though not sure how much a difference it will make.

Which is more active and more likely to come see you when you go up to the tank. And I doubt his but, can either be taught to handfeed?
