Final Stocking Thread

I was about to say drop the HRP. Doesn't fit in with the aggression level of the rest of your stock. I think a cupid cichlid would be a better choice. Some others that should work would be Kribensis, or checkerboard cichlid. All these cichlids do better in groups, so to pick your favorite and just do a group of them, would be best. But if you want to do one of each, I think it would be fine.
So if you did:
Festivum
Keyhole
kribensis (etc.)
cories
rainbows

That sounds reasonable to me

I like kribs and all but I dont think that one would fit the feel of the tank. My current stocking list is
1 Leopoldi angle (probably)
1 Festivum
1 Nannacara Anomla
1 keyhole
6-10 corys
6 dwarf neon rainbows

I love chekerboard cichlids but I am keeping my tank at 74-76 and they require at least 80. But I really feel like I just need something else down at the bottom maybe 1 Bolivian ram.


Edit: Oh yea also a smaller pleco like a gold eye rubber lip
 
I just found that jeff rapps has some guinacara and oh boy does the species look nice and stay small. Maybe but probably not I should let someone who can breed them take them because they like to be in groups and 6 fish at 4.5 in aint going to work in a 30 gal.
 

IMO Guianacara are too large for a 30 gal, although they are not the fastest growers, so a small shoal of juvies would do OK for a time until they'd need to be moved (I've had the best luck with them, keeping in shoals of 1 male to 3 or more females).

I am so jelous of that fish it is so beautiful. I'll just stick with the small stuff which doesnt shoal.
 
I decided not to go with rainbows because of their rambunctiounes. So if anyone could recomend me a mid to top dwelling tetra which doesnt fin nip that would be great.

My final stock list without the schollies is looking lile this
1 leopoldi angle
1 festivum
1 nannacara Anomla
1 keyhole cichlid
1 bolivian ram
6-10 sterbai corydoras
1 l107 pleco
1 african butterfly cichlid (might be too much considering there are 3 lower level cichlids already but the nanacara is only 2in)

Filtration is not a problem considering I have a big budget for a filter and with all of the plants.
