I decided not to go with rainbows because of their rambunctiounes. So if anyone could recomend me a mid to top dwelling tetra which doesnt fin nip that would be great.
My final stock list without the schollies is looking lile this
1 leopoldi angle
1 festivum
1 nannacara Anomla
1 keyhole cichlid
1 bolivian ram
6-10 sterbai corydoras
1 l107 pleco
1 african butterfly cichlid (might be too much considering there are 3 lower level cichlids already but the nanacara is only 2in)
Filtration is not a problem considering I have a big budget for a filter and with all of the plants.
I figured that so I am going to drop the african butterfly cichlid and I am going to put 6 pristella tetras in there as the dither thats it nothing more. That's still a lot of fish for a 30 g. I would just stop adding more.
It's not about adequate filtration, it's the frequency and volume of water changes necessary to keep all of those fish.
Probably something from the Ancistrus genus of plecos is what I will go for but do you have any opinion between the nannacara or the bolivian I just cant chose I would love both but that probably wont happen. That sounds like a good stock to me.
Algae eaters- 3 or 4 otto cats, or a couple of true siamensis (not the common CAE/SAE) would be good. Small plecos like clown, rubber, bristlenose, would be fine, though I'd only do one of them.
Thanks for the opinion ill probably try both of them with my stocking because cories need 6 to a group at least and I am going to need an algea eater for a planted tank which has an open area with driftwood.I have not kept the nannacara, they look very nice though. I have kept bolivian rams and they were great fish- not very aggressive, fun behavior to watch. You could probably try both and see if it works out. Get all males of the cichlids. Maybe cut back on the cories or exclude the algae eater to make space.
