It will gain colour in time.

How big is it ? Going by the pictures, i wouldn't be too sure it was a female yet. (That's only my experience, someone else may know better)

Thanks she/he caught my eye right away and im just assuming its a female due to the blue speckles on the gills and face. My uncle got a couple the same size with the blue on the gills and both turned out female at about 6inches each. but I am no expert so I could be wrong lol
 
But size wise, just a tad smaller then my firemouth..so I would say about 2.5-3 inches
 
Size wise about 2.5-3 inches. About the same size of my firemouth. And the firemouth and convict both keep chasing the Dempsey. Should I rearrange the tank or just establishing dominance
 
Could I maybe add a couple small pictus cats? Ill be adding a fluval 303 soon so I think I should be good filtration wise. What do you think
 
Sorry for bringing up an old post. I thought it would be better then starting up a new one on the same topic. I was giving the convict to my sister in a 29 gallon thats been cycling for a week now. If i do that would i be able to add a salvini and still be okay? the convict just gets picked on by everyone and i think a salvini will defend itself better. I saw rapps had some at a good price and the right size so let me know what ya think?
