The car is a 2002 Cadillac Deville, I've been spending the last few weeks doing a ton of work on this beauty. It already looked good on the exterior, but it needed some serious work on the interior. I've replaced the battery, cleaned the carpet, cleaned out all the "natural debris" piled up inside the crevices on the outside of the car, cleaned the lights, and generally cleaned the interior with all the fun car cleaning products. I still have work to do, but it has been my WIP outside of fishkeeping. I may post some interior photos later.

For now, this is all regarding my outside life. Sorry, this was also lengthy.

Congrats on the car. Highly recommend this for interior cleaning. Exactly what I used (and still use) to do interior when I bought my car. Tbh my dad and I have probably spent more money than I care to admit on Chemical Guys products, we essentially have a full cabinet in the garage 😆. Just a personal preference though, ofc.

Hey y'all! Another update:

I'm sorry these are getting less frequent; summer school has taken up much of my time. Again, I'm going to veer off-topic and say that I successfully got my license! I've been driving myself to pretty much everything since, and it's amazing. Also, my dad and I did some more interior work on the car (specifically fixing the falling-apart dashboard), and while it isn't the prettiest thing, it looks much better than it did before. Ok, back to fishkeeping...

I read through my latest posts regarding adding to my current setup, and I think it is too much. I don't have the funds, and some decor choices mentioned were impractical (specifically the gravel mix with sand substrate) for my fish. So, I'm not going to overhaul the decor again. I may get one more plant or rock, but that will be the most I do in the main tank. I think that what I have looks good.

Unfortunately, a few fish have died. There is only one death for the main tank: My Royal Loricariid. I haven't seen any signs of sickness, so I ruled that out. I am assuming he died from starvation (he never was aggressive with eating like the others). I take full responsibility for his passing. RIP, little guy. The other deaths were in the 10-gallon, so I will cover that in more detail in the other thread.

I am still holding on to the previous thread regarding stocking the tank. I plan to add more, but I think I have a different idea of what fish and want to go with that. I will update you regarding that another time. For now, that is all.

Update Time:

There isn't a whole lot happening right now with the main tank. I cleaned it yesterday for the first time in a while, and it looks 10x better. But that's about the most exciting thing that has happened. I'm still on board with many of the ideas mentioned in previous threads regarding polishing/tweaking the tank. But I am also considering leaving the tank and not doing anything more to it. I'm getting to the point where I don't want to chuck more money into the tank; I want to use my money in other areas, not just fishkeeping.

That's all for now; see y'all in the next update.

Okay, y'all. I have some bittersweet news. This will be the final update I give on this tank as a fish tank.

You read that right; the final update on this tank as a fish tank. Why am I doing this? The truth is, I've found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the maintenance and care required to keep the fish happy and healthy. As I've mentioned in the 10-gallon tank thread, I'm about to start school and work, and in the little free time I will have, I will want to hang out with friends and work out. I don't want to keep devoting time and money to the fishkeeping hobby right now; I've felt guilty over the past few months because I haven't been able to provide the care I would like to give the tank, and the fish deserve better. So, I will take them to the fish store this weekend and ask the senior fish salesman (who I know) to ensure they go to appropriate homes.

Does this mean that I'll be quitting fish-keeping forever and leaving MFK? No to both. I will still hang out here (if that's ok with y'all) on MFK, and I have plans for future fishkeeping. I'm still passionate about the hobby, but just for now, I can't manage this size of tank. I hope to set up another tank or two and begin fresh in 4-5 years (maybe longer, depending on what kind of schooling I will do). I plan on doing a crap ton of research in this break so I can go bigger, and better, and fix all the things I wanted to do with this tank but couldn't. In short, I will pick up the hobby again, but for now, take a temporary break.

I said above that I'm not keeping the tank as a fish tank. So, what am I doing with it? I'm going to convert it into an oversized hamster paradise. I will devote the tank to my dwarf hamster, Pearl; I've believed for a long time that she needs a bigger home than the one she is in now (although she is comfortable in it), and I want to give her something much better. I will not get rid of the tank itself, just the inhabitants, decor, etc.

I shall conclude by saying thank you to those who have helped and supported me throughout my short trip back into the fishkeeping hobby. I've appreciated the advice and everything y'all have given and done for me over the past couple of months. In a few weeks, I will post a new thread with updates regarding the new chapter of the tank.

If you would be so kind, mods, could you please close this thread? Thank you!
