Most of them don't care for the bright tank lighting.I guess mine are somewhat spoiled as I rarely use the tank lights and they swim around openly in the dimly lit tank.When I do turn on the light the small dats seem to panic and dart around for cover.

Once he gets some size on him I think he would get brighter and braver.

Mine doesn't mind the lights at all. He just goes on with his business and greets me and begs regardless of lights being on or off.

That's good.Its only my small dats that seem to prefer the dark.I don't know how they even see the food I drop in the tank for them but sure enough they snap it up.It doesn't bother me since they are grow outs.The big ones don't mind the light.

Could it be!!! I think he is finally beginning to stabilize! I haven't cleaned the glass for a while to make it less stressful and I've added in more growouts such as the oscar you can see in one of the pics and some magnum x umbee fry he is doing amazing it seems like he is only stable when looking for food though other than that he goes right back to being dark but at least he is showing sights of stabilization and he is also swimming around a lot more I think he needed the food competition from the other growouts here he is
