gt's are one of my fave cichlids i'll take a look at this post when i get home

I think so . . . no direct experience, but I don't see why there'd be a problem

problems I have run into with GTs are with fish that look like GTs (i.e., other GTs, Blue Acara) or are similarly aggressive; for example I had a problem with my GT and Jack Dempsey, tho' others may not have had a similar experience

I doubt you'd have such problems with a severum, which a) look nothing like GTs, and b) are not terribly aggressive . . . they are also likely to get much bigger than the GT

Depends on the tank size - I'm going to try it in my 125g

Oh and to the OP, now THAT is a GT, grats on finally getting one :headbang2
 
I just found a GT that looks identical to that one. I thought it looked a little pale but I guess it is just due to being young.

Yep they tend to color up more as they mature.

it may be to early to sex. if I had to answer now, i would say male. lighter in color and longer that a typical female. great pick up!

Depends on the fish. I have one that is a wimp, but another at 2" that is a beast and beats up on my Red Devils that are twice his size. They can be straight dicks though..
