Thankls for the pics, for sure a gachua variant you have there. Stewartii have a more elongated body AND they have black spots on the body

Had a channa before they were banned.After it passed they were impossible to find in the states unless you got lucky and caught one fishing. (none around me though 
) Now I just have good memories.
) Now I just have good memories.Well i've checked online again and talked with the guy that sold them to me and they are Stewartii. The one that you show in your picture are adults, mine are only 4" long.
Here are some more pictures of the male(my own analysis). He's much smaller and has much more bright colors.
Why not take our word for it.
You are talking to a group of very experienced Channa keepers and breeders here, I can guarantee you those are Gachua.
Gachua is a complex, so there are many variants with differing colors etc, yours is one of those.
