i only use hangon filters up to a 220 gallon tank. i am using 3 aquaclear 110s on it and they do great. any bigger tank then i guess u prolly dont want hangons but i like them cause u never have to worry about a hose leak or pipe breaks and crap like that. hang ons are the way to go imo.
