My aquarium is finally cycled (0 ammonia 0 nitrites) . my question is when and how often should i start doing partial water changes ? how much water should i change ? its a 90 gallon with 1 oscar 2 parrots 1 green terror , eheim 2075 and a penguin 350b . thanks for your help .

Agreed

Keep testing you water and change the water to keep your parameters in check.

IMO, you should change at least 50% each week, or as soon as you get some amoinna or nitrite in the water or your nitrates climb above 20.

Agreed with the 50% weekly, but adjust according to the water parameters. If you find your nitrates higher than 20 ppm, you know you either need to change less twice a week, or more once per week.

I have an overstocked 55g that I do 40% twice a week on.

I would just do 30% a week depending on how high your ammonia and nitrites get.

I thought once the tank is cycled you shouldn't see nitrites or ammonia anymore. I just checked the water last night 0ammonia 0nitrites very little nitrates (5ppm). I guess once the nitrates start rising ill start with 30% water change. When i use the water conditioner do just put just for the water I took out or do I put conditioner for the whole tank? Thanks for your help.
