I thought once the tank is cycled you shouldn't see nitrites or ammonia anymore. I just checked the water last night 0ammonia 0nitrites very little nitrates (5ppm). I guess once the nitrates start rising ill start with 30% water change. When i use the water conditioner do just put just for the water I took out or do I put conditioner for the whole tank? Thanks for your help.

Do 50% a week. It's a good habit to be in. My 9 tanks all get ( wait, I lied, my saltwater get 25% a week ) a 50% water change once a week. Ammonia and nitrites are always 0 and my nitrates stay under 5.

Water conditioner is only for the new water going into the tank. Mix it with the freshwater before adding it to the tank.
