If you have 3 lights going width ways (not length) it would be cheaper lighting then having to buy a very long one. IMO
I have two 48 inchers going across the width. I never tried live plants, but it is my understanding that you need about 2 watts per gallon. My two strips only give me 80 watts. I would need about 8 more lights.

Oh, I know that, I just thought you could make it a bit brighter so you get a good view of your fish at a low depth.

P.S In a tank this size I would not bother with live plants. Personally I would use a few giant peices of driftwoof and numerous river rocks.

:iagree:

If you were interested in trying plants, there's a few that would work. Anubias are great when tied to driftwood, so if you had a couple pieces of driftwood that had some height, could tie anubias to it to add a little character. Also, if there was just 1 more light strip, could do some anacharis as well, they are planted in the gravel of course. Java ferns also do good tied to driftwood, and don't require a lot of light. I have one in a tank with just under 1w/g, and it's doing just fine. Just grows slower, which means less maintenance. ;)

Also, the w/g rule really doesn't mean much when it comes to small tanks, as well as larger, deeper tanks.

hate to break it to ya but that is only 572.69 gallons.

man whats a gallon or two... its easyer to just write 600 then 572.692121013 gallons right?, now are you counting in US or UK gallons?
LOL.

you could use some hawthor its realy low light and grows like a weed sucking up all the nitrates, and it even flowers too... Java Fern and Java moss is pretty low light too... it would green it up a bit and make the water wuality better too...

nice tank, is that linoleum flooring on the wall around the tank?
