Finally Done! (Almost) lol HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, so...why not just under the first one, then up through the eggcrate and biostuff? Do it however it works for you, odds are you will be tweaking it for weeks or months to get it just right. I like simplicity.
I see what you mean. And to give an honest answer. Not sure bahahahaha just kinda went with it. Like I said, first time I've ever made a sump or set up a sump in my life

I hear you; my first sump looked like it should have had a chunk of cheese at one end and a live rat at the other.

I just set up one for a new tank now, and it's just two unaltered plastic bins standing beside one another. Save a fortune on silicone! :)

Your plumbing work looks good - especially having done it for the first time. I can also appreciate your hard plumbing and how you had a color scheme going on.

Everyone will have their own preference to how they want to run it. Some good ideas here and you'll just need to see what works for you - you have to live with it not us LOL. Personally, I would just raise the filter socks and not bother with more mechanical. You can find a way to raise the socks either with hook, egg crate, create an acrylic bracket or buy one if you must. This will raise the sock level and you'll avoid detritus overflowing. Make the sock more efficient, and you don't need to worry about more pads - just more work in the end AND you'll still need to swap socks anyway. But again, that's just me.

If I'm being honest. Thats what I did. Made a hook with clothes hanger and hooked it up to where jo more water over the edge. I change it often
