Its understandable you took that the wrong way, especially since he didn't add anything at all lol
The footprint of the tank will help with determining what you can put in there. I had a group of butterflies in the past, 4 in a 75 and that was fine so of its a 120 wide then you could probably get away with 6-8 depending on filtration and footprint. I had a delhezi and senegal with them 0 problems, I think with the huge tail and fins in proportion to their body helped to not ever be targeted. My sen was nippy towards them when younger though on their bottom streamers but stopped. A brown knife would be cool, maybe a dwarf giraffe cat? If you can find one, pretty neat scavenger cat, only gets 8 inch according to planet catfish.
Be careful with the mormyrids, as far as I've seen on here and local experiences shared with me they are quite fragile and get stressed easily. So if anything is bullying them make sure you take care of it somehow
I'd also recommend pothos, its a houseplant you can hang the roots in with the top sticking out, it sucks nitrates out making your water cleaner and helps when missing a day or 2 on your WC schedule
