Finally getting back into the arowana game.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For right now he will be on FD plankton, FD krill, Hikari cichlid gold, Hikari excel, NLS grow, NLS large fish formula, market shrimp, Azoo 9 in 1 arowana sticks, and soon to be added will be some more Omega one foods.

Gorgeous!!! He looks perfect! Especially tose barbels, like everyone else is saying.

Can you explain how you're feeding them the types of foods you listed? In my experience, I find that NLS is a great food, but the pellet size is incredibly small (even the large fish formula is small). They are also sinking. Your black isn't exactly tiny, so wouldn't most of the food sink to the bottom without getting any attention? I'm thinking you're going to somehow incorporate all the listed foods together?

I feed these foods by putting them in the tank. Each day, different foods get put in. Small pellet size doesn't matter too much with aros. Every silver I have had has had no problems eating any of the foods listed. Even at 26" my last set of silvers would eat NLS large formula. The grow food is only going to be offered while he is small.

On a good non picky day my silver will catch small sinking pellets.

My old silvers would feed as fast as possible. On foods that sank fast, they would just swim to the bottom and eat.

Beautiful :)

Things aren't looking too good... Not sure of the problems this guy is having. The spot that can be seen with the raised scales in the middle of the body in the first picture has grown quite a bit in the last couple days, and was there when he arrived. The tail however only started yesterday morning. I'm going to have to treat him in a smaller tank, but that will take some time to get setup. The tail has actually lost most of its scales, which can be seen in the second picture.
