Finally getting closer to a finished product. 520 Gallon setup.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just finished dry plumbing it and will be gluing it tomorrow. It didn't go to bad but the test will be when I fill it and run the system.I need some more media for the sump, flex pipe to go into the socks and a new glass lid cut for my sump as I put my had through it while I was tightening the bulkheads in the sump.

Wow great progress. Hope the hand is ok. The filter sock tray looks great. Those uniseals on the the sump lid are a great idea to keep noise and splashing to a minimum.

Beautiful work!
Thanks! I did the drawings for the sump and tank and I had a tank builder build them both in the house as they are too big and would be way to heavy to carry down the stairs even if I had a walk in basement! LOL

Thanks, my hand is good. Everything on the tank, overflows and sump has a lid. This design just carried over from my ultra silent 450 gallon but just larger in scale and I redesigned the sump for more filtration compartments and the sock holder. Hopefully the hybrid hammerhead gold is quiet like my dart.

Really like that overflow on the sides! Clean easy to maintain the sump!

Easy to maintain but my wife hates all the pipes. I am just going to cover them with some fake vine plants. I like how I can see everything and it is easier to maintain, plumb and no loss of room from inside overflows. It would have taken me forever to do inside overflows as the plumbing is harder as you would have less room to work with underneath the tank.

Thanks for the nice clean pictures been trying to explaine sump configuration to my husband and your pics did just that. love the set-up.

I d'ont understand why there are 2 aspiration in both overflows...

Double aspiration 2 times ?

Not completed yet. Once I stick a pipe in the male thread it will run to the top of the overflow it will be used for and an emergency overflow if the one with the strainer gets plugged. The overflows are silent! I will show some pics when it is running. I am going to do a test fill today.
