  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how fast does it go ? mine only does 35

If I had the money to buy one of these I definetly would, and I still cant get over that steal of a price you got it for. I wish I had the money. This is the closest ive come to a bass boat like yours which is ridiculously overpriced lol. Looks like the craigslist poster threw a fishfinder in a vhull and maybe a cheap deck. Either way its double the price of yours and about 1/4 of the quality. Heres the link http://newjersey.craigslist.org/boa/3781470609.html

not worth even 1500$

Id say its worth more than $1500 im no expert but im pretty sure a good condition bass boat like this will sell for over $2000 depending on make, model, and condition. Looks to be good. How exactly do you determine this btw? Just wondering how your a proffesional bass boat appraiser.

Either way the op scored a good boat for a low price

i payed 1500$ for my boat and i think mine is a much better setup ... i also prefer metal hull ... way more durable

Thats your opinion. I like his setup and equal setups usually sell for double. So imo and in all the other peoples posts on this thread, he did a good job

I wouldn't pay much more than $1500 for that either. The big reason is the motor. With boats off craigslist the most important things are that the motor is in good shape and that the hull is solid. Everything else is cheap enough to replace but those two things are major. Also, a larger motor is significantly more expensive. A 6 hp is one of the smallest sizes mass produced and the boat is slightly underpowered imo. I'd prefer a 9.9 or the like on that boat. But back to the boat: on that particular boat, the fish finder is outdated and the trolling motor is not new either. It might look clean but there is a big difference between that and OP's boat, majorly the larger motor. I know it sounds strange but its all in the motors when buying older boats. A newer motor is a better investment for several reasons. It will hold its value better than the boat itself if well maintained and it should be more reliable and easier to get fixed if it does break down. Some mechanics won't work on older motors for some reason. Check out craigslist and see how cheap the boats that don't run are. Then look at the price of used motors. Several thousand dollars for a good one is fairly common. There are other factors but please don't buy a really nice looking boat with some old junky looking motor unless you plan on replacing it.

Wow thats a much different view then what I had. I never realized that. I knew motors were in the $1000+ range thats about it. If I do get a bass boat im just going to take my new mercury and put it on there. Its insanely fast ive got to look into seeing all the info on it. Its at one of my other houses that I never really go tom

What size is the merc? Just to give you an idea the msrp for a new mercury 40 hp 4 stroke is around $5k. Not cheap for most people. Some of the larger ones in the 200 hp range can cost over $20k! That's a car lol.

If you already have a motor then you should be able to find a decent boat for less than 1500 without much trouble.

Personally I have a 115 hp merc on an 18 foot Lund deep v fishing boat and I love it. Fully loaded it's not very fast though. Probably maxes out at 40 mph on a calm day. the op could probably hit 55-60 easy wot with his boat. I plan on upgrading to a 24 foot class center console with twin outboards whenever finances allow. With student loans coming in it's not looking too good for a few years though:(. I want something more seaworthy than what I have now though for some inshore fishing.
