Finally got a bowfin!

Finally happened to be in the right place at the right time! Got myself a 20 inch female bowfin!
Snapped a quick photo of it out of water. It's now residing in my koi pond where I can see it easily at night and often during the day. Itll get a few crayfish and raw shrimp thrown to it.

Congrats on the catch! That is quite a pair of photos.....one shows what looks like a great looking pond and the other looks as if the the fish was just tossed into the back of your vehicle and transported that way.

Haha, dont be alarmed. That's the shallow area of my koi pond. Then theres the quick photo I took when it leaped from the bucket I happened to have with me. I got an old cat to let me have it when he reeled it up on the bank. I've wanted one for a longggg time

Nothin like finally landing a long sought after fishdo you have any full shots of your pond?

It's nearly done, needs more stones ofcourse around the rim. Its 4ft deep, around 17x18 across

She has been doing great too! Gets along with the koi, eats raw shrimp and crays
