Finally got a FH

I was thinking the same thing. It's in a community setup now. I'm thinking I should move it to it's own tank or does it matter? I was hoping that it would be a better socialized fish if I raised it in a community.

It doesn't matter. If he's doing good in the community tank then why move him? Just keep doing what you're doing and he'll look better.

Even if he isn't a Flowerhorn, and kind of ugly, I'd still buy one if given the chance. Looks pretty neat to me regardless.

Thanks for the advice and comments. It's interesting how the fish is developing and fading. I am hoping the stripes go away. The color it is fading to underneath seems to be a bronzish orange, you know, the same color as John Boehner. LOL Anyways, I will continue to post updates. Any guess as to sex? There is no tube and I do not want to catch it to vent at the moment.... I'm guessing female though.

BTW. I talked to the breeder today and he said that the lineage of this fish is: Male Flowerhorn X Mammon Female

I love parrot hybrids, I think he looks great. He's going to look even better when he fully fades, developing nicely.

Thanks. I just wish his pearls wouldn't have faded. The genetics of these hybrids are amazing and unpredictable. This fish had brothers and sisters that were SB flowerhorns, one male I saw looked like a really nice RT and others I guess were ZZ's with large KOK. I'm trying to decide if I should breed him or not and if so, to what?
