panel light diffuser, trim to size with diagonal snips.

No dye here. Mine were yellow upon arrival at 2". And they stayed yellow all the way to a foot long plus on a diet of mixed tropical sticks, earthworm sticks, feeder shiners, and juvie crayfish.

I think lemon Oscars are either died or are feed the supplement to pop out Yello through their skin and it's a luck by chance thing.
I don't think yellows can be easily enhanced. I may be wrong

Absolutely stunning Oddball Oddball ...
I have dreamt of a pair of those since i saw that stunning one that won one of the World competitions, (cant remember now the details) but no one has been able to find me some.. they are too beautiful
Have you had a successful spawn?
Was just wondering if they bred true

I was told that these were hormone injected or dyed, which is why they're known to fade to a gray color as they mature. Oddball Oddball being the only exception I know of. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get yours? Is there no one breeding/selling them currently?

I tried selling 2 spawns several years ago. I had no individual takers. Wound up selling both batches to a transhipper that sent them overseas. Sold the breeding pair and the 3rd batch of fry to a guy in Memphis. Never saw any sign of the Sunshines since then. I bought my young sunshines from aquascapeonline. Pedro best-guessed a m/f pair for me and he was spot on.

Thanks for explaining. Your pair were absolutely stunning! I'm amazed at how there wasn't any interest. I'm sure this will help point people in the right direction now anyhow. It's a shame I'm from the UK or I'd have to inquire about some:(Everyone that can get lemons here has said they eventually fade to grey from being dyed/fed hormones.

Cool little oscar but Looks like regular Lutino to me? Shouldn't lemons have no black in their fins?
Or is lemon a name used for yellow Oscars?

Lemon is a fancy way to say Lutino or Albino. I have a Lutino "Lemon" and he's starting to turn more yellow/orange with the standard Red Oscar pattern. It doesn't change the fact that little Lemon is a beautiful fish, but the term "Lemon" Oscar really doesn't mean much.
