Finally got a payara

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i got him for 10. with my discount

so, its not a scomb, sweet lol.

first i need to do, get some gravel for the tank. all freaking day he is chasing himself around, i will pick some up tomorrow, i have the lights off and the lights off in the room to help. he seems to relax that way,

i need info on them.

He seems to be doing very well in his new home. Swimming straight.no problems. Seems healthy as well, can't wait until he gets bigger and has some huge fangs

If anyone has some info on them I would love to hear it

Nice, Congrats. Swimming vertical is normal and it will get old for him.
X2 on Raph

The raph, actually cannot see it's reflection. If you look at the bottom straight down from the top, you can see that you can see right through the glass. There is only a reflection when you see it through another pane of glass at an angle when filled with water. I don't think the fish necessarily needs gravel, but the eel you have most likely would prefer it.

That price is pretty steep. My LFS used to sell them for 20 bucks. Now, we have to sell them at 35 since we cannot get them cheap anymore. I've kept raphs, scombs and tats, and raphs were by far the most outgoing. Mine used to eat even when I was in the tank scrubbing algae. Just watch out for claustrophobic behaviour. Once mine hit 5-6" he started getting super claustrophobic in my 20 gallon aquarium and began rubbing his face on the glass until he rubbed his face completely raw.

MY SCOMBS.

Thanks everyone. He ate for me in his new home the second the mollies hit water. Will be moving him to a bigger tank next week. Not sure if I want to try and put something in with him or not.

More pics later on.
