Wow, that is a lot to read. I appreciate the comments. Thanks.

It's been quite the journey, but well worth the effort. The tank is cruising on auto-pilot now. It's been running for 8 months.

Wood added back as suggested...I agree, it looks better...and the plants are growing too.

What...you miss that old "Box-O-Weeds" of yours.....;) JK

Yes, even I miss your tank, it was amazing. You were one of my inspirations for a starting a planted tank. You should make another one. I even liked your smaller planted tank, a lot.

Thanks, I'm really pleased with the growth of the Discus in this planted tank. Who says you can't grow 'em big and round in a planted tank!! Of course they were already 4 inches when I got them.

Thanks for your kind comments.

Everything looks like it is doing very well. Your lotus stays so close to the ground. Do you just trim any leaves that start to grow high? My lotuses like to reach for the sky. But it might have to do with how much more light you run than I do.

Great job

Thanks Jason,

Yes, I trim away the tall leaves, and what normally happens is each plant is shooting out 2-3 new plants, so I stick the new ones in the front, and as soon as I have WAY too many plants, I sell off a bunch of them.
