Finally got the fire eel on shrimp

i don't want him to eat fish since he is kept with fish as small as platies. once he makes that connection, its over. i prefer him on invertebrates

coo; cut up the silversides so he doesnt duistinguish the shape of them and wat ur feeding right now and u should be fine

This is the same question i wanted to ask... i've been trying so hard to get my fire eel to eat something other than live shrimp... it seems nothing i give him is good enough

So just want to ask, any tips?

get em fat n healthy on worms then starve him, lol

yeah, if he is kept with small fish, I'de avoid fish too as food. Though I'm surprized when you starved him he didn't eat your smaller fish. But I am cool with them eating only earthworms, as everything I've read on them states they are perhaaps one of the best single nutritionally complete foods you can find for live feeders. How long did you have to starve him/her before they took the shrimp?

my fire eel will only eat frozen shrimp. thats it! tried everything i can think of she sneezes at it and looks like she is barking at me it very funny but i wish she would eat more her poo looks just like shrimp! YUCK
