Man That was the one that I started thinking.. maybe I could keep a snake.. Two of my friends owned these 
I really enjoyed the king snake we kept last winter. I like by ball and boa better for handling though. I just like slower snakes.
The king became known as Captain Jack Sparrow because he almost got away about once a month. We accidently dug him up in the middle of winter so didn't handle him to tame him (tank maintenance and escape handling only) as the intent was always to realease back outside when it warmed up. He'd skunk the whole room if he too got startled....
I've no experience with cbb but my local person says they don't smell as bad. I can say healthy habitat spray would get rid of the skunky smell from Jack almost completely.
