wood floor with a crawl space? you own your home? wouldn't it be better to reinforce the floor than to have to go out to the garage to see your fish?

just a suggestion..

either way, just net them out into a 5 gallon bucket, pretty simple operation.

Congrats!! Thats such an awesome, huge tank! As for tranporting or changing the fish into the new tank, I use a large plastic bucket(s) with the original fish tank water. Set it right next to the new tank and over the course of about 2 hours, every 20 mins or so I take a cup of the bucket water out and dump that into the tank then get a cup of water out of the tank and dump it into the bucket where the fish are! This is the best way to acclimate the fish from my experiance. Less stressful too cause the fish will be in a solid color structure. Not clear for them to see and freak.

To get the new tank "set up" for the fish to go into. I just took almost all of the old algea covered rocks, wood and most of the gravel out and put that into the new tank! My new tank switch over took about 1 week for it to be ready for fish! Do not forget heat! Its important for bacteria to grow and stabilize. Whne you get done, POST PIX!!!

its more like a chill out zone its huge i got my weights and workout stuff there my pets and its warm i keep my herps and fish in there its even painted it dont look anything like a garage more like a chill zone. butt since my garage is cement bottom like all other garages id think it would be a safer place to put the heavy weight.

This tank sounds awesome. Can't wait to see pics. The garage seems to be the best location. How do you get a 4' wide tank into your house?
