Finally moved rays to new home

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Glad to see an update from you Jeffers! :) Can't wait to see everyone in detail!

Very crafty work on the double stack!

I'm curious about the diffuser disks... Look like they're pretty good size, how big are they and where would a guy get them?

About time, it has only been what 2 years in the making? I love it, very homemade and putting the rays needs first. There is one ray well maybe two that I will be patiently waiting for an update on (:

yea every bit of 2 years. had the bottom tank on top and a different tank on bottom. had overflow boxes made stand painted and looked great. but the other tank started leaking and I was tired of messing with it so I had to make a trip to pick up a different tank. couldn't use the stand as I found the 8x4 so I had to make the stand wider and taller. I changed the way the filtration was going to be plumbed so I couldn't use the overflow boxes. so I just had to put something together to get them moved as I had a huge sump failure at the other house and had to move all of the media and flow to a 55 gal barrel. wasn't sure how long that would last. so I figured the aesthetics could come later. just going to be more of a pain to make it look better with it already running.

Thanks DB the diffuser disks are hydrofarm 8" disks. powered by an ap100. originally there was going to be 2 up top one in the bottom and 2 in 2 different 55 gal drum reactors. but like I said the plans changed about 10 different times so I used 4 of the disks in the tanks and am very impressed with them.

3 suction cups on the bottom??

I just ordered some new diffusers and they're the same ones you have. lol. Just hooked the first one up the other day and am pleased as punch. It's taken me years to find a sweet disk. Great minds think alike? lol

Will be checking back to see updates on those rays of yours...... Hope you don't make us all wait too long! ;)

Looking great Jeffers. Cant wait to see some up and close updates on the rays and other stock!

figured I would send out an update. finally got the lights in for the top a while back but still need something different for the bottom. here are pics of the top tank bottom will come soon with the fire eel. also recently sold one of my favorites last week so no update of him and another will be gone soon as well so I will let the new owners update those as they please so no castexi pics today. this will leave me with my adult hybrids to update. also I see my date tag is wrong but oh well.

a very interesting mix if you can guess what she is

female from my first batch

my favorite female from first batch of pups

my male I kept from a litter that I am selling

my once amazing marble that I ruined :(

Some great looking Rays there my friend, Love the patterns, Torpedo beach it looks like, Love your taste in sand color

My god that looks like a lot of hard work gone into that bud. Well done and congrats on a great looking system.

Yeah I like how you have utilised the space so well!
Both tanks linked into the same bead filter?
How do you plumb the bottom tank to the filter as its so low?
