your sir are no where near ready to raise an aro, you n00b!!

learn the basics of fish keeping first, which seems like you havnt.

www.aquariacentral.com would be your place to start

for info on an arowana check out my sticky in the arowana forum

the care information can be used on all arowana species.

Yep definitely a black....I am looking at mine and then the pic. Same stance and you can see partial blueish coloration on the lower fins. It just seems a bit beat up but the fins should heal fine in time.

I would keep the temp warm like 82 and keep water peramters in check to help it heal quicker.

GREAT PICK UP:headbang2 !!!

Thanks for the kind reply..

it DEFINITELY a black aro...the pics probably doesn't represent him well...

i'll try to post more pics later...

it's not 20"..i would guess it's around 18"

yes he may be still in a little bit stress coz i just got him like 3 days and my pino is quite agressive towards him..

--

yes the black aro is harder to find in Indonesia than asian aro...

Great fish either way man. Take care of him, keep the water clean and stress levels free and I'm sure he'll gain some color back:headbang2

That is a black aro. Looks just like the one I had.

I'm doubtful that its dorsal fin will grow back, though. With aros, once the dorsal fin is cleaved down to the base, it won't regenerate.

my pino was beat up pretty bad when i first get it...his 'bottom' fin is ripped of almost half and only have 2mm left in the based...it grows nicely now...

hope the black aro top fin will grow back fine..

hey has anybody heard of a hybrid between silver and black aro ?? I heard someone saying that it looks similar like the one posted on this thread...now im getting
