Nice gars! I actually just got two that look a lot like yours! I don't know much about them yet as I am still learning from everyone here, but I have noticed they are really dainty (sp?) eaters. And from owning oscars in the past I know they are pretty aggressive eaters and will probably try to steal food right out of the gars mouth. Thats just something you might want to be careful of.
Well they actually know WAYYYYY more than I do about these species. I think they just get annoyed when people ask really non-specific questions and don't do a lot of research before they purchase a fish. I'm not sure if you have read the stickies. But they have a lot of good info and some links to other websites that have a lot of good info too. And if you still have specific questions then I bet they would be more than happy to answer them for ya. Good luck with your new gars
cichla are bad tank mates. they will spook the gar and most likly cause them to break thier back. or they will steal food and cause them to break thier back.

exactly. also a simple search would turn up the info most times. i have no issue with answers the same question if its a rarity but answering questions that are answered every other freakin thread gets a bit redundant and freakin annoyin

the host of other posts since the one quoted above i think explained your situation well. it's just generally a waste of time to take the time to RE-answer something that has been answered (and posted/pinned) dozens of times over. combine that with the fact that you didn't research keeping this sort of fish before purchasing it and you will hopefully realize why some of us haven't taken the time (which hopefully you understand is valuable to everyone these days...you, me, everyone else) to answer your question(s).
