6 months maybe? Probably less? It'll last until it's about 3-4 feet.

ok thanks A.gigas. I still have to try and decide between a coastal carpet python or a dumeril's boa. i have the space for a 4x2x2-4 foot tank. so really just gotta decide if i want my 2nd snake to be a digger or a climber...

Mine doesn't really climb all that much, but they all do their own thing I guess.. IMO Carpet > Dumeril's.

ya the one at the lfs spends all its time either inside a cork bark tube wedged in the tank horizontally with a few holes cut into it, or ontop of a magnaturals ledge. depends on how noisy the store is...
