Ya...Im thinking more of an all natural in ground pond. That would be crazy. You could have your own lil mangrove swamp in your back yard. :D

only problem with that is that i live near you and we get way too cold for that, dont think the mangroves would much like 30 below even if we could keep the water temp up

Ha no! You would have to buy a pool and set it up in the basement with a 400w MH or so suspended above it for their continued growth.

640g intex pools are only like $19...you can DO IT! :D

I say build a tank like a aquarium with the side windows that runs to the ceiling almost and to the ground. But you would have to put a tile on the ceiling and make it water proof to keep the floor from being rotted and soaked from evaporation. I plan on building one some day hopefully 3,000 gallons or atleast 1,500

if i decide to do pond style i may still put in acrylic viewing windows in the front to be able to get the tank style viewing from couch level as it will be in our second living room, will be 3 feet tall more than likely 8x5 footprint or so.

Yea... Thats the thing Idk if I wanna be able to look down in or through a window... It would be cool but hard to see everything good from top and the window would be a pain and expensive....

Put the pond in your yard, right next to the side of your house. You can build a window in your basement to see the fish when they are in your mega-monster outdoor pond! :D

if i want to see fish in the basement ill just go into the pond room, which is a room dedicated to an indoor pond. my ex wife had mine torn out and im in the process of rebuilding but this is what i used to have down there.
