After several weeks, I've finally found a new home for my two Red-Bellied Pacus. This Saturday they'll be leaving.
Problem is... They've lived in this 220g tank since they were 3" long; they're currently 16-18". So I dont know how hard it'll be to remove and move them.
Anyone have some advice for me?

I've heard of poeple using a sheet for the real big fish. I dont know if yours warrents that but I always thought it looked like a good way to do it.

x2 on a pillow case. Just make sure it's got some holes in it. I've used large cotton towels to remove large plecos, same concept with the pillow case. and watch out for their mouths! =) I don't have to tell you how powerful those jaws are even w/out sharp teeth.

sounds like to much work... when i had no net to take out mines i used a nice size strainer... the one you use for veggie and noodles =]
with less drag in the water.

a big bucket and battery air pump!

i use pillow cases for anything bigger then 12"

Yep, pillow case. Then transport in a storage bin with a battery powered air pump.

I just moved 6 decent sized red belly piranha.

Buy a huge rubbermaid bucket at homedepot, mine is 30gal for 12$ with lid, drain half the tank, take out decorations, this will make it easy to corner, put the rubbermaid in it width wise and go towards the end of the tank, when the container is close enough theyll swim in, then tip upward maybe trapping 15gallons and bam lift out of aquarium and u got em! Possibaly add more water after that.

Or just fill rubbermaid 15-20gal set on ground right next to tank, drain 50% remove lg decor have super large net and trap against glass, set in container, 1 down 2 to go!

Either way goodluck!
