I guess my last set of pics weren't up to snuff. Maybe these will generate some responses. :D

I've been saying it for a while now, and last week I finally busted out the Nikon D3000 and snapped some half way decent pics. I'm still getting the hang of it though. Some of the lighting is difficult to shoot in, especially with the LED's. Rest assured that even my bad pics with this camera are better than some of my good pics with my cell phone. :D

Zoanthid colony. These orange zoas have come a long way and have been through a lot. One of my favorite pieces.

Candy cane. My very first coral. Definitely a must have if you are a LPS lover. Easy to keep and very resilient.

Xenia. A fast rising new favorite of mine. I've always heard that some toss these guys out like weeds, but I love they way they look. They can fill in gaps in the tank and really be a nice looking filler. Not to mention how hardy they are and not aggressive at all. A cool softie.

Hammer. Another must have LPS. If you like the extravagant pieces, hammers will give you that extra color and wow effect you are looking for. A very cool coral, and again, easy to keep.

Last but not least, a few "full" tank shots.

Nice colour! I always love how huge zoas look in pics then in person they are so tiny haha. Also these are indeed excellent pictures lol. Oh and the reason people throw out Xenia is because under the right conditions it grows like a weed, over anything even sand, so you have to get rid of some to keep it from taking over.

Thanks Kevin. This xenia, so far, is growing at just the right pace. I can frag it and in about a week, what I took comes back. It hasn't been able to grow over the substrate and has no trouble bending away from the branching hammer which, I'm sure is stinging it regularly. Definitely a cool coral.

I should be more clear, I didn't mean YOU have to get rid of some, I ment people who have it growing like a weed sometimes need to haha. And I'm sure it doesnt grow on the substrate often, but I've seen pictures of it doing just that at least twice (apparently makes fragging ultra easy).

I understood you. It just doesn't grow quite so fast in my tank. I see how it could get out of control though. Funny thing is, here, my LFS wants frags of Xenia. I haven't talked about how much I could get for them but as fast as they are going it would be nice to get anything back.

Thanks guys!
