It's taken 3 weeks, but I finally caught my "sword stripping" Bristlenose Pleco from the 240 gal. planted Discus tank. I know the Bristlenose is supposed to be a great algae eater in a planted tank, but this one was more interested in rasping the leaves to death on my Amazon Swords than eating veggies, algae, or anything else. After many failed attempts at using traps, and chasing with a net, I finally caught him out in the open, and scooped the bugger up on the first try with the net today. I'm thrilled! He's now in a non planted 125 gal. So, if you're thinking of adding a Bristlenose to your planted tank containing swords, you might want to reconsider. Some like to strip the leaves, and in the plant tank, can be a nightmare to catch. :D

congrat's on your awesome catch. would sure like to see a full tank shot of your 240.

Cool Discus!

:WHOA:WOOOOOOOOOOW!!!:WHOA:

now that's a nice tank!

Are you sure he was eating the leaves? holes in the leaves of swords are a sign of nutrient deficiencey in most cases.
