I am finally officially a MFK,
bought a couple of giant gourami juvies 8cm and a saratoga jardini 25cm on the weekend
now all have to do is get a huge tank to house em when they grow.

Its a start...:headbang2

I would not mix the jardini with anything else if I were you. I only had better luck with bichirs but that was all my jar could tolerate. I had to add some driftwoods to add protection for the bichirs in case the jardini starts snapping unpredictably.

its a bad option to keep 2 giant gouramis together. the bigger one will bully the smaller one and in a few days you can see nipped and torn fins. also i hope you have a tame jar and not a killer.

true true, at the moment they all have seperate tanks, seeing as i have recently got rid of a lot of my african cichlids

if you KNOW you have the money and space to either buy, or build a large tank or tropical pond, welcome to being an MFK'er, its a rather enjoyable life style. albeit, you'll live it with a much lighter wallet:ROFL:

if theres any doubts you can 110% house a fish like a GG, do yourself and the fish a favor and take them back or sell them man. not tying to be rude what so ever, but your only going to be causing yourself and your fish more problems than either of you need.

cool cool,, you not bein rude, dude,
I am at this moment workin out a plan for a 7 x 5 x 3 ply tank to house my monster fish.
i priced 20mm perspex today ((600aud sq/m))
its all good, i know they get big and if i cant house them i will find them a home
but i am confident, all hobbies have a price.

good luck with you plywood tank. that is a good size tank.

a 7x5x3 tank is quite the nice size. you could stock a tank that size with almost any fish you wanted to, with few exceptions.

when the time comes, MFK is one of the best places for info on DIY tanks. so many people here have done it. i can assure you, you wont be sorry once you do, too:headbang2
