Buy a new tank? The larger you go the less chance you have of finding something that ideally suits your needs, the chances of finding something over 500g with the dimensions you need, holes drilled in the right place etc are pretty slim.

Yes true. But im not shoving it into a small space, i can build my setup around the tank. It does not need to be drilled either. Im really just looking for something 280g or larger.

And i dont know about where you are.. But its 499.99 plus tax for a 180g. Its really not much more then my 140g. Ill hold out a while. I know i can find a good size tank. Just the tank for $600.

This is the biggest (pardon the pun) problem with buying a RTC, though they are arguably the coolest fish out there, housing long term will always be a problem, unless you are one of the lucky ones who can afford a titanic aquarium.

I feel anything with a good 36" w, 8' L is plenty for a captive RTC, ill find something for them. I have high hopes

Where I am a "180g" is a large tank usually custom made to order! Ontario has triple the population of my country, so there's not much of a market for selling [or buying] large aquariums.

If space for your RTC is becoming an issue how about setting up one of those Intex pools as a temporary measure?

You know evan in the US it can be tough. I am in NH and don't see tanks for sale larger than 180 very often.
