i need to find a well balanced diet for my red bellys that doesnt cloud my water ive tryed sevral things and no im not overfeeding

wow what are you feeding them thats clouding your water? how often do you siphon your gravel and change your water? ive never had any fish food cloud my water at all, i feed salmon fillets and i let them thaw in water and give them a rinse to remove oil before i put it into my tank.

ive been feeding them ciclid sticks for the most part and thats what clouds my water it turns it a nasty orange when they bite them they explode and yes if on the very rare ocation there is any thing left over i do promtly remove it from the tank ive been cleaning the gravel evry 5 to 7 days and ive been doing half changes just to try and make it a little more clear even though i know im not suposed to things ive found that dont cloud my water grasshopers blood worms baby frogs and toads crickets and chicken breast trimings evry once in awile

Hikari Cichlid Gold For Carnivorous fish , I feed a 95% diet pellets the rest garbage , I have great - growth - color - and health
I feed once a day till FULL!!

stop feeding them the sticks, if they take the hikari pellets feed them that its really good stuff. if they dont want the pellets try salmon fillet they both will not cloud your water. your doing great on your water changes. but if your finding alot of food when you vaccum your gravel then your need to remove more scraps after feeding. and try to keep the diet like i said and your water will be as clear as mine is. my tanks all look like they just had a water change no algae whatsoever barely any detrius just like i keep my home. spotless im a true neat freak. and so are my fishes:headbang2

i got some ciclid gold and im liking it but do the make a floating pellet i like them beter but i gues at least my water isnt cloudy with orange i just got done feeding two baby water snakes to them it was like the coolest thing ive ever fed them thanks for all the help

hikari gold and bio gold are both available in floating pellets... if you are really looking for a healthy diet for your natts, i would suggest eliminating the frogs, snakes, toads, and chicken trimmings. a healthy diet for your natts would include pellets, raw shrimp, tilapia, catfish, frozen krill and silversides. if you really get the urge to feed them some live food, get some healthy feeders and quarantine them first to make sure they are disease and parasite free.

raw shrimp packed with hikari gold is almost a 100% complete diet for them. nutritionally speaking. my natts love it. always see vibrant colors and good activity.
