yup, if they'll eat the shells, leave the shells on, they contain high levels of astaxanthin, which will help with coloration

i feed my baby red bellies a combo of mysis, tubifex, and new life spectrum pellets. I havent had them for very long but they seem to be responding very well to the diet. I also gave them some cyclopeze and they gobbled it right up.

ok i have bought 2 packages of frosen white unkooked unshelled shrimp and they love them they are about a inch long the shrimp not the fish they ate 12 peices between nine of them my question is did i get the right stuff they think i did for sure and amazingly its gunna be cheaper than feeding pellets and blood worms no color change yet but its coming i can feel it

A good addition to their diet that won't cloud the water is live mealworms. My RB's love em and they're cheap at the LPS. They last for months in sawdust in the refrigerator too.
