I found a Eheim 2232 for $50 on clearance at Petsmart. I missed a clearance on Rena XP 4's for $89. I have found out when my local Petsmart puts stuff on clearance they really slash the price. The bad thing is I have to go in every few days, they don't have a pattern for what they put on clearance.

Where did you buy it?. I bid on Fluval 406 , but I didn't get it.
I'm not impressed with the online sales for filters. One site says 75 percent off sales...Then I go to the canister filters and they still more expensive then I can get on ebay and 20 percent off.

and your right online stores will say anything to think your getting a deal
most of the time ebay has the cheapest with auctions or buy it nows

drs fostersmith had Eheim 2217s for $84. According to this thread on Oscarfish.com, they will go back on sale for about 5 hours on the 28th.

That's the kind of sale I've been looking for, thanks Pacumom. Just checked and that sale isn't going on.
At the end of that thread, it says that on the 28th, the filters will go on sale for about 5 hours. PM kmuda who wrote the thread for more info.
