I just got a splinter under the thumb nail in my left hand.
It hurts like a *****.
i have tried getting it out but it is all the way underneath and there is no way i can get to it.
What do you all think i should do?
I have heard that these can lead to a pretty wicked infection.
I am at a complete loss at the moment.

should i just wait and see what happens or should i try to get to a Doctor?
Guys please help me.

do you have a pair of tweezers?
no im taking it. jut keep it clean and if it wont budge in the morning that go see a doc.

i dont have any tweezers.
is it possible to take the entire thumb nail off?

possible but painful.

on a scale of 1-10 how bad will taking my nail off bee if i was say slightly inebriated?

Leave it be for a couple of days, it may work itself out...if your finger swells, and starts to throb, go to the dr. Trust me..its better for the DR to numb you up and get it out in a sterile enviroment than it is to do a "home remedy" and end up with a nasty, painful infection..

yeah i have a huge pain tolerance too. but i can take dull bruising pains real well.
not stinging stabby pain.

in football i broke my middle finger and i set it back myself.
and that was not as bad as this is.

If you have any Model Airplane glue (The CIL brand always worked best for me) put a big blob on the end of your nail (centered on the sliver puncture hole) and let it dry (as a blob). As the glue sets you should see a bunch of air bubbles in the glue. Leave the glue on for about 6-8 hrs then peel off in one piece. The sliver will be drawn out as the glue dries and will likely be sticking out of the bottom of the dry glue blob when you remove it....may take a few applications if the sliver is real deep.
