Fingernail splinter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah nail thing 8-9ish if it's a healthy nail.
inebreated thing can only complicate things :D:D:D

glue sounds cool. and if it doesn't just smell it a lil, the pain will go away

but yeah, best thing is Dr. Wellfinger

That glue idea is awesome.

im probably gonna see a doc later on this week.

Same thing happened to me years ago, inch long splinter driven under my nail while crating wire assemblies at a college job. After a few days it just squirted out, smelled pretty bad.then the nail above where the splinter was turned black and fell off.It grew back eventually though.

yeah something similar to this whole thing happened to me with a peice of guitar string. being a 3 foot long peice of wire i could pull it out but it was in maybe like 1.5-2". also had a peice of smallpiano wire go clear through my pinky.

niether one bled.

Ouch, but thats not as bad as my new thread :D

my suggestion is that if it hurts that bad, cut it off. your finger can;t hurt if you dont have one!

I just got a splinter under the thumb nail in my left hand.... ...What do you all think i should do?

Find a bigger splinter and jam it under your other thumb nail. You won't feel the one in your left hand anymore :D

The way I remove splinters is to let nature do it's course. Your body should recognize the splinter as a foreign object and start to reject it over time. It should swell up and then start to blister near the skin. I usually pop the blister once it gets big enough and squeeze hard to get the splinter out.
